Alluvius Hunter Valley Semillon
Wine
Pepper Tree Alluvius Hunter Valley Semillon is sourced from the Trevena Vineyard on a strip of fine white alluvial sand on Hermitage Road in the Lower Hunter Valley.
A celebrated vineyard managed by Trudy Trevena, it was planted in the 1920 by Trudy's grandfather. It consistently produces benchmark Hunter Valley Semillon.
The name Alluvius is derived from the alluvial soils found close to river beds. Hunter Valley alluvial soils are renowned for growing Semillon, considered by some to be Australia's greatest white wine style.
The fruit is handpicked, pressed and cold settled. The clear juice is racked off and inoculated with a yeast strain before a cool ferment. Maturation is for one month on yeast lees prior to bottling.
Pale gold, Pepper Tree Alluvius Hunter Valley Semillon has intense citrus flavours, elegant mineral texture and outstanding length. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
